...a sing-along

I'm riding in the rain,
Just riding in the rain,
What a clammy wet feelin'
I'm soaked to the skin.
I'm cursing at clouds,
So dark up above,
The mud’s in my eyes,
And I'm ready for sun.
Let the stormy clouds go,
Everyone that I know,
Is tired of the rain.
It really is a pain.
I ride down the lane
With a grumpy refrain
Just ridin',
Ridin' in the rain!

I'm singing along, just hoping KS is dry for a week or so. The wind, however, is a given.

Jeff, I hope the head winds are equal to or less than the tail winds on your 8 day journey. I'm a tiny bit jealous--our state's equivalent is Cycle Oregon which takes place the 2nd week of September--right after school starts up again. Someday...
Gabriela, what a beautiful poem! Thank you. Actually, last night's ride in the rain was fun, in an odd way.

Here's a waiku, inspired by your sing-along:

Where I live, it's wind.
Depressing, incessant gale.
One might go insane.

WV - appec. I just heard from the Badger. The wind followed him to California to the Districts and he expects it to give him appec o' trouble in the race tomorrow.

Limes, I love your waiku! The rain has stopped for now, but the wind is blowing like crazy again. I'm trying to talk myself into walking to the nearby grocery store--I don't have your fortitude when it comes to walking in the wind. Appec...immediately brought to mind a song my dear sweet great aunt used to sing: "I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!" Thanks for the memory. :-)
