...ordinary miracles

The laughter of children (of all ages). Bike rides in January. The taste and feel of good chocolate melting in my mouth. Sitting in the first rays of warm sunlight in the spring. Holding babies. Soaking in the tub after a hard bike ride. Giving my dad a shoulder rub. Sunflowers. Curling up with a good book and getting so lost in the story that I lose track of time. Snow. The taste of a good microbrew beer. Playing with puppies. Hot chocolate with biscuits (comfort food from childhood.) Silly text messages from my kids. Little black dresses. Flying down a hill on my bike. Hugs. A real letter in the mailbox. Seeing a student "get it." Deja vu. The feel of my cozy bed at night when I turn out the light and feel warm, safe, and secure. Finishing a sewing project. Hanging with the fast guys in a draft line. Doing puzzles with my mom. Lasagne. Singing Christmas carols at the top of my lungs. Sunsets. Talking to my sister on the phone. Postcards. Cobalt blue glass. Brushing my hair at the end of the day, especially if I've worn it up. Bubble baths. Laughing with friends. Random acts of kindness. Love.
